"You can't outrun her this time!" The young woman sprinted down the empty street, her long hair streaming behind her like a banner. The sound of her pursuer's footsteps was getting closer, and she knew she couldn't keep this up much longer. She had to find a place to hide. Up ahead, she saw a dark alleyway. Without hesitating, she darted into the shadows, hoping her pursuer wouldn't see her. She pressed her back against the wall and held her breath, listening intently. The footsteps stopped outside the alleyway. The young woman held her breath, waiting for the next sound. A moment later, the footsteps continued on down the street. The young woman let out a sigh of relief. She had escaped. She waited a few more minutes, just to be sure, then cautiously emerged from the alleyway. She looked around, but there was no sign of her pursuer. She had gotten away. The young woman started to walk away, then stopped. She turned and looked back at the alleyway. She had escaped this time, but she knew that her pursuer would be back. And next time, she might not be so lucky. The young woman shook her head and started walking again. She had to find a way to stop her pursuer, once and for all.
