"Fire at will!" The soldiers' guns roared as they unleashed a hail of bullets at the enemy aircraft. The dashies, as the soldiers called them, were small and fast, but they were also deadly. If they got too close, they could easily strafe the ground troops with their machine guns. The soldiers fired until their magazines were empty, but the dashies kept coming. They were like a swarm of insects, and they seemed to be everywhere. The soldiers were starting to panic. "We're not going to make it!" one of the soldiers shouted. "Don't give up!" another soldier yelled. "We just have to keep firing!" The soldiers reloaded their guns and kept shooting. The dashies were getting closer and closer, but the soldiers refused to give up. They fought for every inch of ground, and they refused to let the enemy take their position. Finally, the dashies broke off their attack and flew away. The soldiers had survived, but they had been badly outnumbered. They knew that they would have to fight harder next time if they wanted to win the war.
