Tiny wings shimmered in the twilight as you perched on a windowsill, a smile gracing your flower-petal lips. Tonight, another child needed your spark of magic, a gentle nudge of courage in the midst of their nighttime fears. But alas, the moon was shy, its glow swallowed by the creeping shadows. You, little sprite of starlight, could barely see beyond your nose in the growing darkness! No matter. You knew this garden well, its every stone and blossom memorized during playful days bathed in sun. Close your eyes, fairy, trace the path with your mind's eye – the gnarled oak's welcoming hollow, the stone bridge over the trickling stream, the sweet-smelling patch of moonflowers guiding you towards the child's room. Trust your memory, trust the moonlight whispers in your wings, and tiptoe through the moonless maze. Beware, though, of mischievous shadows! Garden gnomes, moss-covered and grumpy, might try to trip you with fallen leaves. Stone statues, silent giants in the dark, may loom, pretending to be slumbering creatures. But a sprinkle of your fairy dust, a whispered rhyme of starlight, will send them back to their drowse. Onward, little lightbringer! Each rustle of leaves, each chirping cricket, is a cheer leading you on. Soon, you'll reach the window, a beacon in the night. With a final flutter, alight on the sill, ready to weave your magic and chase away shadows with a smile and a twinkling of moonlight. Remember, courage comes in every size, even one with gossamer wings and a heart full of stardust. Now go, little fairy, and bring back the dawn to a child's dreams.
