Beat the House is a poker simulator. Before each hand, the player can choose how much money to bet. The game begins by pressing DEAL. The computer deals the player five random cards. The player can then choose to hold or discard any of the cards. If the player discards any cards, they are replaced with new random cards. The player wins the hand if they achieve one of the following combinations: A straight flush: five cards in a row of the same suit. Four of a kind: four cards of the same rank. A full house: three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. A flush: five cards of the same suit. A straight: five cards in a row of different suits. Three of a kind: three cards of the same rank. Two pairs: two cards of one rank and two cards of another rank. A pair: two cards of the same rank. High card: the highest card in the player's hand. The player's hand is compared to the dealer's hand. If the player's hand is better, the player wins the pot. If the player's hand is worse, the player loses the pot. If the player's hand is the same as the dealer's hand, the pot is split.
