Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Ella. She lived in a grand castle with her stepmother and two stepsisters. Her stepmother was a cruel woman who treated Ella like a servant. She made Ella do all the chores and never let her go to any of the balls or parties. One day, a ball was announced at the castle. All the young women in the kingdom were invited, including Ella. Ella was so excited to go, but her stepmother and stepsisters refused to let her. They said she was too dirty and ragged to attend. Ella was heartbroken. She went to her room and cried. Suddenly, a fairy godmother appeared. She told Ella not to worry, she would help her go to the ball. The fairy godmother waved her magic wand and transformed Ella's rags into a beautiful ball gown. She gave Ella a pair of glass slippers and told her that she would have to leave the ball by midnight, or the magic would wear off. Ella arrived at the ball and everyone was amazed by her beauty. The prince was immediately smitten with her. They danced all night long. As the clock struck midnight, Ella rushed out of the castle. She ran down the steps, but one of her glass slippers fell off. The next day, the prince went from house to house, looking for the woman who fit the glass slipper. When he arrived at Ella's house, her stepmother and stepsisters tried to hide her, but the prince found her. The prince and Ella were married and lived happily ever after.
