Awakening I awoke in a cold sweat, my heart pounding in my chest. I was disoriented and confused, and for a moment I couldn't remember where I was. Then it all came flooding back to me: the dark, empty chamber, the locked doors, the feeling of being trapped. I tried to stand up, but my legs were shaking too badly. I collapsed back onto the bed, my head spinning. I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm myself down. I had to get out of here. But how? The doors were locked, and I didn't have the key. I looked around the room, searching for anything that could help me escape. There was nothing. I was trapped. I closed my eyes and tried to think. There had to be a way out of here. I just had to find it. I thought about my friends and family. They would be worried about me. I had to find a way to get back to them. I opened my eyes and looked around the room again. This time, I saw something I hadn't noticed before: a small window high up on the wall. It was my only chance. I stood up and walked over to the window. It was small, but it was big enough for me to fit through. I took a deep breath and climbed up onto the windowsill. I looked down. The ground was far below me, but I didn't have time to think about that. I had to jump. I closed my eyes and jumped. The wind rushed past me as I fell. I could feel the ground getting closer and closer. I opened my eyes and braced myself for impact. I landed with a thud, but I was unharmed. I had escaped. I ran as fast as I could, away from that dark, empty chamber. I didn't look back. I was free.
