He would come to her one day, sweep her off her feet, and take her away to a life of happiness and love. Cinderella knew that her life as a servant was not what she was meant for. She was a princess, and she would one day be reunited with her family. She just had to be patient. One day, a ball was announced at the palace. All the young women in the kingdom were invited, and Cinderella longed to go. But her stepmother and stepsisters refused to let her. They said she was too dirty and ragged to attend. Cinderella was heartbroken. She went to her room and cried. But then her fairy godmother appeared. She waved her magic wand, and Cinderella's rags were transformed into a beautiful ball gown. A pair of glass slippers appeared on her feet, and her hair was brushed until it shone like gold. Cinderella went to the ball, and the prince was immediately smitten with her. They danced all night long, and Cinderella had the time of her life. But as the clock struck midnight, Cinderella had to leave. She ran down the stairs, and one of her glass slippers fell off. The next day, the prince went from house to house, looking for the woman who fit the glass slipper. When he came to Cinderella's house, her stepmother and stepsisters tried to hide her. But the prince found her, and they were married. Cinderella and the prince lived happily ever after.
