You have chosen a small, unassuming creature that is not well-known to the public. This creature is perfect for your purposes because it is easy to control and manipulate. You begin by studying the creature's natural diet. You learn that it eats a variety of plants and insects. You also learn that it is a very adaptable creature that can survive in a variety of different environments. This information is useful to you because it will help you to design the creature's new diet. You decide to change the creature's diet so that it only eats foods that are in high demand on the current food market. You also add a variety of chemicals and additives to the creature's food in order to make it more appealing to consumers. The creature quickly begins to evolve to adapt to its new diet. Its body changes shape and its digestive system becomes more efficient. The creature also becomes more aggressive and territorial. As the creature evolves, it becomes more and more difficult to control. It begins to attack other creatures and to destroy its own habitat. You realize that you have created a monster, but it is too late to turn back. The creature eventually escapes from your control and wreaks havoc on the world. It destroys crops, kills livestock, and attacks humans. The world is plunged into chaos and the human race is on the brink of extinction.
